Racing at The Highlands

The Highlands 2024 Thursday Night Race League utilizes NASTAR Team Scoring System. Whether you strive to be the fastest skier on the hill or simply enjoy the camaraderie of league racing, you will look forward to each Thursday night. Racing will take place utilizing terrain off the Camelot 6 lift.

Race League 2024 Season Details

Update: Due to a lack of snow in the Camelot 6 Race Arena, Thursday Night League will begin on N. Challenger with a practice week on January 11. Racing will continue on N. Challenger until Camelot 6 Race Arena is ready for racing. In addition, Après racing will take place in The Slopeside Lounge. Off menu food will be available until 9 PM.

League Season: January 18-March 7, 2024

The end-of-the-year party will be held on March 14, 2024, at 6 PM.

Registration & Cost

  • All registration and payment will be online. There will not be in-person registration. Online registration is now closed. 
  • $250 per team for the season - you will need a lift ticket or season pass to access the course. 

2024 Race League Format and Changes

Changes to the Racing Season
  • All new race venue utilizing terrain off the Camelot 6 lift.
  • 10 people on a team. Teams can be comprised of all males, all females, or any combination thereof.
Race League Format
  • 5 PM-6:25 PM | Courses open for inspection. NO practice runs, inspection/Slipping only. Inspecting/Slipping each or the courses is highly recommended for racer safety.
  • 6:30 PM-8 PM | Courses open for racing.
  • There is no starting order. All races are done on a first-come-first-serve basis until each competitor has completed one run in each course.
  • After each competitor has completed their two runs, they are welcome to practice in the course, but only the first two runs will count for team totals.
  • Our pacesetter will run each course once. Pacesetter runs will occur during the race. This is done for handicapping purposes of all racers.
  • A maximum of 10 racers can race per night, per team. 6 best Net (after NASTAR scoring) points will count towards team totals.
  • Substitutes may be used without restriction but the maximum number of racers per night, per team is 10.
  • All participants must be 18 years old or older. 
  • You must choose one of the following disciplines to race for the entire league season: Alpine Ski, Snowboard, Telemark, or Adaptive.
  • Point totals are calculated by using the NASTAR handicapping system. The higher the medal, the more points are earned for team totals.
  • Online individual results will be available immediately following each run at live-timing.com. Team results and Individual Net (NASTAR handicap adjusted)times will be available shortly after the last race at NASTAR.com.

Awards will be given out to the most improved male and female skier and snowboarder based on starting handicap in each discipline.

Race League FAQ

  • All registration is online >>. The team captain will register the team and pay the $250 team entry fee. Once done, the team captain will be provided a link via email to forward to the other 9 racers on the team for their individual registration.

  • Yes, simply go to https://www.nastar.com/ and sign the seasonal waiver. Log in first if you have a NASTAR ID from a previous season. If you do not have a NASTAR ID, you will need to register and create a NASTAR ID before signing the waiver.

  • No, a sub can race for any team on any given week. A sub can only race for one team each week.

  • Yes, but it will be different than past years. 1 participation point will be awarded to the weekly team score if all 10 team members race on any given week. A sub does not count as a team member.

  • The 3 fastest male and female racers before NASTAR handicap adjustment will be awarded the following extra points for their team.

    • 1st place = 1 point
    • 2nd = .75 point
    • 3rd = .5 point
  • Yes, a season pass or daily lift ticket is required and is not included in the league entry fee.

  • Food and drink specials will be in the Zoo Bar Cantina after racing each night. In addition, we will have dinner nights after racing January 25 and February 22.

  • Yes, the year-end banquet is scheduled for Thursday, March 14.

  • Results will be available approximately 30 minutes after the last racer finishes. A limited number of hard copies will be available in the Zoo Bar Cantina. Individual and team results will also be available at NASTAR.com.

  • Yes, unofficial individual results will be available on Live-Timing.com throughout each race.
